Love this! The sort of thing that should be in a statue with a heroic warrior thrusting a spear in its chops!
The colours work especially well - at first glance it looks like a blurry camouflage pattern but the blue-red carapace is really effective - I'd be eaten in the second I spent gawping at the beautiful glistening patina!
Very effective! Its body has ambiguity, which in itself can be quite frightening! Your colors are wonderful. From the way you've patterned the colors and 'underside', I cannot help but think what this thing looks like in its more dormant, less enraged, state. I am reminded of some of the great pre-production artwork done by Chris Foss and others for the movie 'Alien'.
Seems like you have found the perfect answer to the question of which way to take the next phase of your art work. After all of the fantastic soldiery and industrial/military mech/bio-mech you have created, you need something to balance the scales, to give purpose for having such an army
