Wow, that is awesome. There is something so believable about this robot, from its very industrial looking design. Reminds me of the Mars rover or some other NASA type robot! The little dude hanging out on top really drives home the sense of scale here, awesome.
Love the 'gantry' look of this construct!! It's industrial, but at the same time, it looks like it could stroll down a naval pier, salute the flag at the fantail, turn and salute the Officer on Deck, then step up and into a specially made space on the naval vessel itself and settle down, locking itself in, thus becoming a portion of the ship's superstructure!
I feel the same way as you about this exciting news for Homeworld! Let us hope it gets the right treatment and TLC that it deserves.!!
The details in your equipment are fantastic. I am guessing the underarm clamps are for large shipping containers. I see a surface search radome, optical targeting for the railgun/cannon, several antennae for comms, the secondary arms in their stow position, and the CIWS atop the unit (As an ex-CIWS tech, I'm a sucker for them ).
As a suggestion, maybe a scoop bucket attachment for one of the large hands could be affixed to one of the legs. Also, I would suggest an electronics warfare suite, including a blinding laser for spy satellites and UAV's
